I am currently Chairperson of Caldercruix Community Council, having taken over from Billy Main at the end of last year. Billy was one of the members of the Community Council who was instrumental in establishing the committee and we are working together very closely to take things forward.
I have lived with my husband in the village since 2005. We moved here from Airdrie and live in the Gowan Brae area.
We are very happy living in Caldercruix and have established good friendships with our neighbours and other local residents.
I met Billy Main when he was involved in the campaign around the reopening of
the local quarry, and Billy felt that having an established Community Council
would have given us a stronger voice in dealing with issues that directly affect
the village and its residents.
Having discovered that Caldercruix was one of the very few villages which was
not represented by a community council, I was keen to work with Billy in
resurrecting and establishing a new Community Council. I believe that having a
Community Council will help us address local issues and make our village an
even better place to live.
